The Occasions We Serve

Each category below has a dedicated approach, a tailored service style, and a menu philosophy specific to what that event demands.

Weddings

From an intimate ceremony lunch for forty guests to a full evening reception for three hundred, our wedding catering programme covers menu design, bar service, staffing, and coordination with your venue manager. We are familiar with the principal wedding venues across Greater Victoria and the Gulf Islands, which means logistics discussions begin with practical knowledge rather than assumption.

Corporate Events

Board dinners, client entertainment evenings, product launches, and annual general meetings all carry different expectations. Our corporate catering team is experienced in working within strict timelines, accommodating last-minute guest count changes, and operating discreetly within office or hotel venue constraints without disrupting surrounding activity.

Private Celebrations

Milestone birthdays, anniversary dinners, retirement gatherings, and family reunions. Private events often call for a more personal touch in menu design — incorporating a favourite dish, a family recipe adapted to a larger format, or a regional ingredient with personal significance. We welcome those conversations.

Outdoor & Venue-Flexible Events

Victoria's summers invite outdoor entertaining — waterfront lawns, vineyard terraces, private gardens. Our logistics team can establish a self-sufficient kitchen setup at locations without permanent catering infrastructure, including independent power, refrigeration, and waste management. We assess every new venue before confirming a booking.

What the Planning Process Looks Like

A clear, structured process that gives you confidence at every stage.

An initial enquiry triggers a response from your assigned event consultant within one business day. We begin with a scoping call of around thirty minutes to understand the event date, expected guest count, venue situation, and budget range. For events over eighty guests, we schedule a site visit where appropriate. You will receive a written proposal within five business days of the scoping call, covering menu options, service format, staffing numbers, and a clear per-head price with itemised inclusions. We do not add hidden venue surcharges or “event management fees” on top of a quoted rate — the proposal price is the basis for the contract. A 25 percent deposit confirms the booking; the balance is due fourteen days before the event date.

“Planning a wedding when your guests are flying in from four provinces is already complicated. Having a caterer who sent written updates at every stage — venue visit notes, tasting agenda, final staffing sheet — genuinely reduced the load. The food was outstanding, but it was the organisation that made the difference.”

Common Questions About Our Event Catering

Straightforward answers to what clients typically ask before booking.

How far in advance should we book?

For weddings and large formal events, we recommend booking twelve to eighteen months in advance, particularly for June through September dates when demand across Greater Victoria is highest. Corporate events of under one hundred guests can typically be accommodated with four to six weeks' notice, subject to availability.

Do you supply bar staff and alcohol?

We can provide licensed bar staff and coordinate alcohol supply through our licensed supplier partners. Depending on your venue's existing liquor licence, the arrangement varies — we walk through this at the scoping call so there are no surprises with permits or corkage.

What is your minimum guest count?

Our minimum for a full plated dinner service is thirty guests. Grazing and canapé receptions can be arranged for groups from twenty. For very intimate gatherings below twenty, our private dining concierge service is often a better fit — please ask about this at enquiry.

Can you work at venues outside Victoria?

Yes. We regularly cater on the Saanich Peninsula, in Sidney, on Salt Spring Island, and at venues across the Gulf Islands. Travel and logistics costs for locations more than sixty kilometres from Victoria are itemised separately in the proposal so you can evaluate them clearly.
